2C change's history
"We give people the responsibility they take on themselves".
This quote comes from Nicolaj Vang Jessen, Managing Director and cofounder. It sums up the entire philosophy behind starting the new and different SAP consultancy company which today is known around the world as 2C change.
It's basically about people – about understanding and appreciating the value of each person and their ability to create results, as an individual and as part of a team. At 2C change, this means recognising each consultant's abilities and skills – professional and social – and this is what makes 2C change strikingly different to other Danish IT and consultancy companies.
Employees at 2C change don't just want to be different. They are different.
Different, because together they have succeeded in realising the common dream 13 Danes formulated back in December 2002 – to create an SAP consultancy company that would think and act differently in the market.
Different, because together they have made a company, which not only consists of the brightest IT minds in the market, but which also functions as a social and holistic unit.
Different, because they have dared to push the frontiers and challenge themselves, each other, and their customers, because they know there are plenty of workplaces where limitations set the agenda, but few places where inspiration is allowed to flourish freely, in the constant pursuit of learning new things.
Different, because they still celebrate initiative and maintain the desire to improve daily work and live out the foundational idea behind the company – of mutual trust, freedom within responsibility, and space to grow with the challenges. Because everyone in the company knows that freedom cannot be given without trust. And that trust cannot be given without an environment that makes room for everyone, by each person taking responsibility and respecting each other.
And that's how it is at 2C change.
Right from the simple vision of doing things right the first time. And to constantly do things that we are doing well, even better. All our employees know that unless they consistently strive to do things better – and preferably with perfection – they risk being overtaken. There is too much soul and too many feelings involved at 2C change to be content with second place or being relegated to the spectator benches by our competitors.
The 13 founders have been joined by more than 100 of Denmark's most talented IT, product and solution experts, who all continue to think and act in the way that best serves the team – whether it be their colleagues or our customers. These people are driven by a team spirit rarely seen in other companies, because it goes further than the joint projects and experiences with customers and partners. It also touches their private lives, with many enjoying each other's company after working hours, because they want to. Simply because they like each other. And because they value each other.
What it all boils down to is that 2C change is basically a People Business, at its best.
How many companies can say that? And how many employees would say that? Whether they have helped build the company from the ground, are fresh engineering graduates on their first day at work as a consultant, or have many years' of IT development experience – everyone at 2C change is equally important, because it is a flat organisation, built on respect. Everyone has influence and something to contribute, because it is a company based on the responsibility to listen to each other – and learn from each other.
As Nicolaj Vang Jessen also says: "We are proud of what we deliver. And we are proud of the way we treat each other".
So if you want to get to know a consultancy company that not only says it is different, but actually is different, you are more than welcome. We – and our customers – can always use another capable person.
